I thought the story was ok, but the cover and title are extremely misleading. Both portray a very sexual story which this is definitely not. I think this story had a lot of potential, but it just really fell flat for me. Jamal was jilted at the alter and instead of wallowing in his self pity he turns into a what I would say is a fake player. He had one meaningful relationship with Sasha, the rest were just blips on the radar, and really didn't add anything to the story for me. The love scenes were just fair. From the cover and title I would have thought they would be super hot but they just weren't. The story is pretty slow and steady which is why I rated it 2 stars. I just couldn't get into it.Product details

A wonderful read! We have all experienced love, lying, and cheating at some point in one of our past relationships. Yusuf does a spectacular job with the plot and character descriptions. He makes the characters easy to relate to. I recommended this as a selection for my book club to read.
I really enjoyed this book. It was perfect for a day flying. The story was easy to follow, and I really got a sense of the main character. Because books are judged by their cover, I think its important to note that this cover does not really reflect the content of the book. The book is not as sexually charged as the cover suggests, which was a pleasant suprise!
I was glad to read an urban book that didn't have the usual story line of drugs, guns and murder. This is truly a romantic novel written in good taste. It gives a unique perspective as to problems men face in dealing with commitment and trust. I wish Yusuf much success.
This book was enjoyable. I can see how being left at the alter can cause a good man to lose his way. What was deep was how he studied and perfected his game. Well...almost. It's one of the very few urban books that I have read that did not have any drug dealers involved. I would have prefered shorter chapters, but the book was easy to read. I loved it. I look forward to more releases from this author.
A solid recommendation for anyone that has experienced a broken, troubled heart. The protagonist's means to emotional survival is compelling, as the reader is introduced to the mindset & burden one faces in trying to gather all the shattered pieces to restructure one's being. To be left at the altar is a nightmare to many, but a reality to some. To resurrect is the journey we can all relate.
I read the entire book in a week. Everyone can relate to some part of the story. After I started reading the book, I bought a copy for my sister. She hates to read and will only read something that is entertaining and will hold her attention. She finished it in two days. The book gives its readers insight into the lives of some realistic characters. It's a must-read!
This was a well put together book and a quick read. "What lies Between the Sheet" clearly depicts a fictional protrayal of true life events and situations. It tells one of the purest urban stories "without" the ususal Gun and Drug plots. As a pure hearted "Urbanite" myself, I can easily associate the relationships in the book to parts of my life and others I know. Bravo to the Author, Publisher and Editor for a great read.
