My 2nd 5 star read in as many days for the lovely, superbly talented Ava!!!Book 2 in SEB essentially picks up where book 1 ended. Star and Ronan are hunting for the lost dragon and they call in the big guns (Gabe, Peri and Josef from WWV) to assist. They are up against Dark magic and they need all the reinforcements they can get. Star has settled into the role of Ronans asistant quite nicely and it sure makes "naptime" fun!!! Whilst the book centres around the search for the dragon, we also get to meet more of the peripheral characters from the first book and meet lots of new characters.
I loved Sam from the first book. He is such a cheeky chappy and irreverent. We see him grow up essentially from being "Wham bam thank you ma'am Sam" to respectful and caring mate.
Charmaine, a witch, has been abused the same people holding the dragon. She tried to help him as much as she could but when caught she was punished. She is immediately taken under Sams wing and everyone but Sam can see they belong together!!! Charmaine is so sweet but also strong as she has endured the "punishments" doled out but is still a kind and caring person. I wanted to rip the throats out of the bad guys myself when found out what she had been through. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried a bit. A genuinely good book does that to you, it grabs you by the heart and takes you along for the ride.
We also get to meet Serge, who had been on the recon mission looking for the dragon for almost a year. He met his mate nearby and he returns to the fold with her.
Creed, the big, scary dude also makes another appearance. He still appears as this unapproachable, unreachable persona so I'm hoping to get to know him more in book 3. There is a little teaser at the end of book 2 as a segue into what might be happening in book 3.
I absolutely adored this book and I want in on the casting if they make it into a movie!!

This book has a lot packed into it. Suspense! Black magic! Love! Several Alpha male Heroes ! Heroines to be saved and protected! New love old love!
As usual A K Michael's is a great storyteller. I have enjoyed reading this series and also the Highland Wolf Clan. I'm trying to decided which other series I'll read next. So I would recommend either of the two series I have read. Plus I'm sure you won't go wrong with any of her other writings.
Read book one and had to get book 2 and it did not disappoint me!! Her writing style keeps me so interested I have to just keep reading!! Her characters are always strong and that is what keeps me coming back!! Love it AK!!!
I loved it! I am such a fan of Michaels work! I first started reading her work a few months ago with another Series-The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire, which, by the way, is FANTASTIC! I loved it so much that I became hooked on anything that Michaels wrote. Her talent, skill and imagination amaze me. Her writing captures the reader in a web of magic and fantasy. Wonderful entertainment!
I cannot see any other way to describe this book. A.K. has done a wonderful job keeping us on the seat of our pants wondering what was going to happen next. Are we going to be safe from evil this is time, or will it return worse than ever. You just never know so you must continue to read to learn the fates of our heroes.

Ok. I read this book in one day! It was so jam packed full of action I couldn't walk away from it for long! I needed to see what would happen Next! If you love action. Vampire killings and good fights with a HEA for some, then this is surly the book for you. It flowed so well from book one that you didn't miss a beat. I am eagerly waiting till the morning when I can jump into book three!! I've been up reading all night and now need to get some rest. ;) There was some sad parts but the story was great. The work was a masterpiece! I really enjoyed it. If you have not read the first book you need to. Then hurry and grab this book and book three because you are going to have that need of reading on after you start them! So. Grab all three before reading book one! They are keepers. ;) I will recommend this book to any adult that likes a little romance in an action packed book! It's great. Really! But don't take my word for it. Grab it for yourself!

Her words are bewtiching and eloquent. A.K. Michaels you are an exceptional writer you weave suspense, love, passion and angst seamlessly in your stories. The banter and loyalty amongst the characters makes this story unforgetable. Thank you for taking me on this magical journey and giving me book boyfriends that I will treasure for a lifetime.
